曹仲云，男，重庆市人，1952年生，中共党员，中国书法家协会会员、名誉主席；中国书画艺术非遗传承常务副主席；国家特级书法师；国家级非遗艺术大师九级；国务外交礼品师；中央电视台、香港电视台签约艺术家；cctv客座教授；世界非物质文化遗产研究院副院长；中国翰林书画院院士；中国书法家研究协会副主席；欧阳中石艺术纪念馆副馆长；两岸文化交流形象大使。

Cao Zhongyun, male, born in 1952 in Chongqing, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He serves as: Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association; Executive Vice Chairman of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Committee for Calligraphy and Painting Arts; National Special Grade Calligrapher; Ninth-Level Master of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Arts; State Council Diplomatic Gift Designer; CCTV and Hong Kong TV contracted artist; CCTV guest professor; Deputy Director of the World Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Institute; Academician of the Chinese Hanlin Academy of Calligraphy and Painting; Vice Chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Research Association; Deputy Director of Ouyang Zhongshi Art Memorial Hall; and Cross-Strait Cultural Exchange Ambassador. The Ministry of Culture awarded him the title of Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritor for Cursive Script Calligraphy; the Lanting Font Committee honored him as the Best Designer; CCTV’s "Huaxia Children" program bestowed upon him the "Outstanding Artistic Heritage Star of Huaxia Children"; In June 2023: He received enthusiastic congratulations on the 75th anniversary of the founding of People’s Daily, with a special edition titled "Artistic Leaders Under the Party Flag, Masters of Painting and Calligraphy" published by Tie Ning, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. The documentary "Inheriting Classics" and "Artistic Chronicles of Huang Yongyu and Cao Zhongyun, inheritors of Chinese painting and calligraphy culture," both featuring prefaces by Tie Ning, were archived as National Library of China Collection No.0018. His works are housed in the Great Hall of the People and the Palace Museum. During the lifetimes of Ouyang Zhongshi and Quan Xijun, they co-published "Three Masters of Chinese Calligraphy Art Soul" through China International Publishing Group. In December 2022, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, inscribed the title "Invest in China" to recommend Cao Zhongyun, a key artist in Asia-Pacific, for distribution by China International Publishing Group. He was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award in Chinese Painting and Calligraphy" by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, recognized as a "Contemporary World-Class Artist" by the China Art Masters Exchange Center, named among the "2023 Global Top Ten Influential Figures" by UNESCO, and designated as a "New Leader in Contemporary Chinese Painting and Calligraphy" by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (authored by Tie Ning). Since 2024, he has been awarded the United Nations Cultural and Arts Medal. His Lunar New Year celebrations were recognized as a UNESCO official holiday, and he received the honorary title of "One of China’s Four Great Masters of National Treasures". Domestically, he has won the Nobel Prize, the Hundred Flowers Award, first prize in the "Lanting Cup" National Online Calligraphy and Painting Competition, and the White Magnolia Gold Award for Chinese Calligraphy and Painting. Media coverage includes "Cao Zhongyun: One of the Eight Most Influential Modern Artists" by Media China, CCTV’s "Artistic Charm: Master Cao Zhongyun’s Exhibition" on Morning News, and co-edited works like "Ink and Colors: Cross-Strait Affection" published by China Business Press. His works were also featured in "Five Tigers of Chinese and Russian Cultural Exchange" by World Culture & Art Publishing House. Celebrations include "60th Anniversary of China’s Atomic Bomb Test" with contributions from four leading artists, "Cultural Titan" by CCTV’s Huaxia Voice, and "Contemporary Calligraphy Sage" by International News Network. For the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic and China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, he was honored as "Pioneer of Calligraphy and Painting". Recommended by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for "National Cultural Titan Monument Award" and "2025 Art Masters Focus", he was named one of the "Top Ten Global Golden Artists" by Belt and Road Tourism Promotion Association. Approved by Tie Ning, Vice Chairperson of the National People’s Congress, he received the "New Leader of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy and Painting" award from China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism, he was listed among "Five Cultural Deities". Recognized by five art associations including the Artists Association, he was specially recommended as "Cao Zhongyun: Leading Five Global Calligraphers". The World Chinese Development Association and others selected him as "Cao Zhongyun-one of the top ten news figures in Asian calligraphy and painting".
